ISTA Owner and Head Designer, Mevesh was born and raised in Istanbul - the great Silk Road city and centuries old 'salon' where so many peoples and cultures from Central Asia, Europe and the Mediterranean came together and left their mark.
While she graduated with accolades from one of Turkey's oldest fine-arts schools, and won multiple awards from the World Gold Council for her designs, it was her time spent among the master jewelry artisans of Istanbul's ancient Grand Bazaar (Kapali Çarsi) that sealed her fate as a jewelry designer. After working for 13 years as Chief Designer for an international, fine jewelry firm headquartered in Manhattan, Mevesh is launching her own ISTA line of superbly crafted pieces. Her unique creations in hand-hammered 18K gold, oxidized silver and natural gem stones are inspired by the flower and animal motifs found in traditional Turkish ceramic and textile works and by the harmonious forms found in Byzantine, Ottoman and Anatolian architecture.
Jewellery Adjustments We want every piece to be a perfect fit for your body, so if you require any adjustments to your chosen new item, such as a longer chain, or an altered ring size, then please contact us at one of our stores. Many adjustments can be carried out for you in a relatively short space of time. More complex adjustments or repairs may need to be returned to individual jewellery designers and this may take a little longer. Unfortunately, due to the unique nature of our collections we cannot guarantee that all items can be adjusted, but we will endeavour to help you in any way that we can.
Ring Size Chart Most of our jewellery designers offer a standard size for their rings, a UK size M which is equivalent to an US size 6. We offer a resizing service free of charge* for the purchase of rings by our fine jewellery designers. We cannot, however, offer ring resizing on costume pieces and some fashion design rings. To measure your finger for a ring size, take a piece of string and wrap it around the base of the finger. Use a pen to mark the point where the string overlaps, then measure the distance between these two points in millimetres to give you the circumference measurement of your finger. Finally, use our ring size conversion chart to calculate your correct ring size according to several different systems. Any good jeweller should also be able to measure your ring size for you.
