'Nathalie Kabiri did, which is why she launched her shop, Kabiri, to take the stuffiness and fear out of the transaction and create an in-between twilight (or more probably a halogen-lit) zone of "Is it real? Is it fake? And does it matter?" jewellery, where what counts is creativity and design.

'"I get bored very easily," explains Kabiri. "Longevity doesn't interest me, nor does something that's only well-crafted. I like there to be a correlation with fashion or for it just to be a great piece." She's not alone.'
