Most Common Most Rare is a collaborative jewellery label between jewellery designer Holly Archer Nicholls and musician/artist Alyssa Moxley.
The label has created a collection of unplaceable objects by combining polarities - the rarefied and the exotic vs the domestic and mundane.
Geometric forms evoke processes of manufacturing for both industrial and traditional styles of jewellery. Handcrafted antique Indian bangles are re-created in luminous resin leaving the imprint of a traditional technique in modern materials.
Decorative patterns that allude to locks and keys run throughout the collection serving as a mediation between elements of traditional and mass manufacture. Like a key, each piece is intricately patterned, designed to be one of a kind. |
