Lady Grey - exclusive at Kabiri

Lady Grey Jewellery, an emerging jewellery line based out of Brooklyn, NY, consists of handmade pieces by designers Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader. Through the use of unconventional techniques and imagery, a fine line is drawn between conceptual art and adornment. While some pieces are macabre, others whimsical; all share a unique, organic element. The designers, both having early histories in dentistry and orthodontics, were fascinated by the possibilities that can spawn from metalworking.

Jill and Sabine met while studying metalsmithing and jewellery design at Massachusetts College of Art, in Boston. They noticed similarities in their concepts, working with ideas of decaying architecture, organic images, and playing with the dualities between the two. Studying experimental materials such as rubber, resin, and organic matter, and desperate to find the median between conceptual art and adornment, the two decided to start Lady Grey Jewellery.
