Taking cues from the aesthetic talismans of ancient cultures and the inherent nostalgia of vintage costume jewelry, ACB is Costello Brown’s own return to her roots, to the folk art of her parents generation, infused with a progressive, thoroughly contemporary feel.
A Bachelor’s Degree in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute solidified Costello’s instinctual sense of form, color and her affection for innovative high style.
Soon after graduation, she embarked on a career in art, adventure and freelance jewelry design, spending the next several years traveling throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia, acquiring an eye for traditional handcrafts, which she would eventually match with an edgy modernity.
Looking to balance exquisite craftsmanship with a forceful femininity, Costello created ACB, a line of sumptuous, intricately rendered leather jewelry that is as much mystical totem as fashion accessory.
Founded in 2006 and based in Echo Park, Los Angeles, ACB is steeped in a range of potent influences - from nature’s art forms, ethnic tribal adornment, vintage costume jewelry and D.I.Y. fashion. Rendered into geometric shapes and forms, as well the whimsical images of cats and moons, each piece becomes uniquely reflective of its wearer. By utilizing high quality leather and transforming the material into the utterly unexpected, Costello Brown shapes the familiar into the unique.

Annie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been based in Los Angeles since 2002.
