Akong
Akong London is a young couture jewellery house with one clear ethos — to make stand-out, statement jewellery with universal high-fashion appeal. Nicole’s work features everything from semi-precious gemstones, glass and crystal, to feathers, fur, velvet and lashings of gold and silver chains; but it is only after rounds of merciless editing and fastidious construction that her signature look emerges. Since the launch of the label, it has attracted the attention of fashion insiders everywhere and is set to become a cult favourite among style hunters in the know. Akong is launching exclusively at Kabiri in the UK.
For Nicole Akong, designing jewellery is a relatively new pursuit — the fulfilment of a lifelong dream to spend her life making beautiful things. Born and raised in the West Indies, Nicole’s early academic achievements were always underpinned by a rogue creative streak. After studying Fine Art at university in the United States, she moved to London where she immediately fell in love with the city’s vibrant culture, and spent the next 8 years building a successful marketing career in the City by day and DJing by night. In 2008, she took her first jewellery-making course and it proved a perfect outlet to channel her abundance of creative energy. With her unique style attracting the attention of friends, colleagues and strangers alike, she decided to take a leap of faith and officially launched her own jewellery label at the start of 2010.

Jewellery Adjustments We want every piece to be a perfect fit for your body, so if you require any adjustments to your chosen new item, such as a longer chain, or an altered ring size, then please contact us at one of our stores. Many adjustments can be carried out for you in a relatively short space of time. More complex adjustments or repairs may need to be returned to individual jewellery designers and this may take a little longer. Unfortunately, due to the unique nature of our collections we cannot guarantee that all items can be adjusted, but we will endeavour to help you in any way that we can.
Ring Size Chart Most of our jewellery designers offer a standard size for their rings, a UK size M which is equivalent to an US size 6. We offer a resizing service free of charge* for the purchase of rings by our fine jewellery designers. We cannot, however, offer ring resizing on costume pieces and some fashion design rings. To measure your finger for a ring size, take a piece of string and wrap it around the base of the finger. Use a pen to mark the point where the string overlaps, then measure the distance between these two points in millimetres to give you the circumference measurement of your finger. Finally, use our ring size conversion chart to calculate your correct ring size according to several different systems. Any good jeweller should also be able to measure your ring size for you.
